Another busy year of rescues

December 19, 2019 by mamacatadmin

Another year has flown by in a whirlwind of rescues; the usual foxes, cats and pigeons plus the odd crow, some tiny ducklings and a budgie I had to catch in a local supermarket! Fox cub season in Spring was busier than ever but I was able to reunite quite a few ‘mislaid’ cubs back safely with their families. Poorly cubs, orphaned cubs and those with no chance of finding their families were taken into care and released later in […]

Another year of rescues!

December 20, 2018 by mamacatadmin

Another year has gone by too quickly-I have been so incredibly busy with rescues that I have not updated the website for a whole year! But what a year! We have rescued and improved the lives of more foxes than ever; we are starting to build a group of volunteers and supporters via the monthly meetings I hold and we also recently had our first awareness and fundraising stall at the Animal Aid Vegan Christmas Fayre. The number of cats […]

A year of many animals!

December 12, 2017 by mamacatadmin

Looking back over the year, it has been been busier than ever and many lives have been saved! Although lots of cats have been rescued and re-homed, the main focus has been on fox rescue as there are so very many here in London needing help-it is never-ending. This has been very rewarding although there are as many sad endings as happy ones but we always have to try. Among the day to day rescues, there have been quite a […]

Cats, foxes…and more cats and foxes!

July 30, 2017 by mamacatadmin

For the last few months, I have been holding monthly fox meetings for those interested in learning more about foxes and the problems they face, especially here in London with the prevalence of mange. This is also with the aim of getting new volunteers who would like to help with the increasing number of foxes I am asked to rescue every day. If you are interested in attending the meeting this Monday 31st July in Holloway N7, or any future […]

Springtime brings plenty of cats and fox cubs!

April 21, 2017 by mamacatadmin

Firstly, this lovely young mother and daughter pair have been waiting for weeks for a loving new home together but have not had any luck. I just don’t know why they are taking so long to home-they are young, fun and playful and have a long life ahead of them. They are both under 3 years old.   They came from a situation where they were banished to the small patio most of the time although they would have loved […]

Happy Holidays!

December 21, 2016 by mamacatadmin

The year has raced by in a flurry of animals, mainly cats and foxes! I recently lost my beloved Pushkar at the grand age of 20 and a half-he had come into my care at the age of 9 after his former owner had  a baby and felt they could no longer keep him. Their loss was my gain! I adored him and saw him through various health issues including managing to keep his hyperthyroidism under control for the last […]

Special home needed for special kittens!

August 22, 2016 by mamacatadmin

These timid babies were born outside to a feral mama cat and are needing a special home! With a little patience and love, the rewards of bringing up previously feral kittens, are immense-each little step shared with them on their journey to learning to trust is such a thrill! I was called out to them over two weeks ago and had to trap them high up on a 10 ft wall which was quite a feat in itself! I had […]

Jess is running for Mama Cat Trust!

April 25, 2016 by mamacatadmin

People are fab! Jess has been donning her running shoes at the crack of dawn getting into practice for the Richmond half marathon this weekend which she so kindly offered to do in aid of Mama Cat Trust-what a wonderful support! If you would like to offer Jess your support on the 1st May, please go along to Richmond to cheer her on! Her boyfriend Adam has also just decided to become her race buddy-let’s hope the weather cheers up […]

Love is in the air!

February 14, 2016 by mamacatadmin

It is that time of year! The birds and bees and cats and dogs and foxes and all are doing what comes naturally which means lots of work for those of us working in rescue!  Wildlife is wildlife but those animals that we have domesticated need to be neutered because there are more kittens and puppies than there are homes for them. It is a huge crisis which is never ending-THE most important thing you can do for your beloved […]

An end of the year round up!

December 20, 2015 by mamacatadmin

Well, what a year that was! I have rescued and homed many cats as usual but also dealt with more foxes than ever before! A day does not go by when I am not helping treat several foxes: we have a big problem here in London where there are a large number of foxes needing assistance but rescuers are very thin on the ground so this is a huge undertaking. Some days I am inundated but always do my utmost […]

The busiest Spring ever!

July 11, 2015 by mamacatadmin

It has been ages since my last update as it has been the busiest Spring ever, especially since I have out of necessity, become very involved in fox rescue as well as cats! It really has been absolutely non stop with foxes from the very beginning of cub season; small ones, big ones, abandoned ones, sick ones, injured ones and some who just needed a helping hand from getting themselves stuck somewhere! It was very stressful and traumatic at times […]

Thank you from Mama Cat!

December 23, 2014 by mamacatadmin

Not all Mama Cat Trust supporters and followers celebrate Christmas but for those who do, Merry Christmas to you! For those who don’t, have a wonderful week! There are exciting changes coming in the new year-more of this soon but for now, thank you for all your support-it is very much appreciated and helps to save many animals. Please spare a thought for strays and wildlife at this time of year by leaving out a bowl of water, food and […]

Urgent! Could you help Neo and other animals needing foster homes?

November 5, 2014 by mamacatadmin

Neo is not a stray but needs a temporary foster home for 6 months in the UK while his owner is travelling abroad. I know and love Neo so want to find him somewhere which will make him happy! He will make you happy too-he is a lovely boy with a lot of character. Food etc would be provided and any expenses covered. Any vet visits would also be paid for. He has a couple of very easily managed health […]

Homes needed urgently! Neuter your pets!

September 25, 2014 by mamacatadmin

This has been the year of the garden cats! It has just been one lot after another-I have never known it to be so bad…it’s never-ending. Of course, none of this would happen if people neutered their cats. Female cats can get pregnant at 4 months old and although some vets still recommend neutering at 5-6 months, many now realise that this is not early enough and thankfully, have changed to earlier sterilising. It is obviously better to neuter early […]

Plenty of mama cats and kittens for Mama Cat Trust!

July 20, 2014 by mamacatadmin

I have hardly had a minute to breathe as I have been rescuing so many cats and kittens-it is worse than ever on my own doorstep let alone elsewhere and in Spain. I have never known it to be so bad-it is never ending. Please, if you see a pregnant stray cat or suspect kittens have been born outside, please contact as many rescues as you can as soon as you possibly can until you find one who will help-it […]

Spring is on the way!

March 27, 2014 by mamacatadmin

It is that time of year when some Spring cleaning is in order and some ‘out with the old and in with the new’ so here at Mama Cat Trust, in what is supposed to be a quieter time, I have been trying to catch up with everything I haven’t had time to do because there are always animals to be be rescued. As well as pulling out all the stops to re-home animals who have been waiting quite […]

Merry Christmas from Mama Cat!

December 23, 2013 by mamacatadmin

Well, what an adventure-Carmen is here all the way from Spain just in time for Christmas! In writing the title, it has just occurred to me that she is the same calico colour as the original, now sadly deceased, Mama cat who started it all. I like that! When I first picked her up from the streets, Carmen was blind and had a huge ulcer on one eye which looked like her eye was popping out but with careful nursing […]

Happy stories and a cat called Halloween!

November 1, 2013 by mamacatadmin

Well, it has been a stressful few months with lots of problems but so many happy endings which make it all worthwhile. All the cats and kittens that I have homed have come up trumps with the very best homes-I am very happy! The church grounds kittens were homed in pairs and the lovely young mummycat is now chasing toys and playing ‘fetch’ much to the delight of her new family, when she drops the toy at their feet to […]

Stray mama cat and babies need lovely homes!

September 10, 2013 by mamacatadmin

A few weeks ago, I was called out to a young cat who was desperately begging for food in the neighbourhood. When I caught her, I checked her over and immediately spotted that she was nursing kittens so had to release her and try to locate them. This was easier said than done as after eating, she would hot-foot it over fences leaving me clambering after her, grazing my knees and ending up with twigs and leaves stuck in my […]

So many cats, dogs and a fox with no tail…

August 11, 2013 by mamacatadmin

I am juggling cats and dogs like crazy at the moment, not literally-that would be very wrong! It is non-stop with the phone and inbox and it is quite frustrating to invest a lot of time and energy trying to help those who contact me for help to solve their animal problem for it to suddenly go quiet. There is a big flurry of fevered activity then nothing. Phones and emails not answered and no explanation. I just hope all […]

Marlon needs a home

June 25, 2013 by mamacatadmin

Super-urgent! Please find a place in your heart for poor Marlon who lost his owner in a tragic house fire. He’s been wandering aimlessly ever since with no owner and no home-I need a home by tomorrow-could you foster? He needs a permanent loving home but for now, just needs love and shelter-could it be you?
